The start of the NFL season is upon us and in some cities so is the sun. And the humidity.
The sweatiest place will be in Jacksonville, Florida with a heat index of 88°. So here’s hoping that all the visiting Green Bay fans don’t melt into the seats. Keep your cheeseheads on and drink plenty of fluids.
The Heat Index is the temperature felt by the skin rather than the actual temperature due to the humidity level. When its hot outside humans sweat a lot and heat is removed via evaporation of sweat. But when its humid the evaporation rate slows down because of all the water already in the air. That’s when the affliction known as swampbutt occurs. And that’s where materials that can wick sweat away from the body can help.
Please note that games in domes are not listed. Houston is on the list because it is likely that the NRG Stadium roof will be open. Games in Landover and Santa Clara will be played Monday Night. All other games are Sunday.
