This week’s picks start on Friday, September 12, 2025 and extend through Saturday the 13th. These games are at some of the most hot, humid, uncomfortable places to watch, never mind play a college football game in the country. That thin air for the Buffalos conditioning will not be enough for them to overcome the sweltering, sultry conditions forecasted for Houston and Space City Financial Stadium Friday evening September 12, 2025. “The air in Houston is so hot, heavy and laden with moisture it is like running through a heavy blanket of ‘wet’ when it is like this,” said SwampButt Underwear spokesman and frequent guest for lunch, Nick Heraldson. “The Buffalos better bring all their cool weather gear and heat coping skills with them. In Wisconsin, there are four seasons. The one they are experiencing now, regardless of the calendar, is fall. In Alabama and other parts of the south there are two seasons, summer and rainy summer. The Pacific Northwest is pleasant year ‘round as the cool water off the northern Pacific affects temperatures. Lubbock, Texas on the other hand is a dry, sandy hot and flat place where the heat makes horn toads and armadillos search for a shady spot. “Tumble weeds tumble away from Lubbock as fast as the Uriah Heap of blasting hot wind will carry them,” Heraldson said. He went on, “the Beavers will not be ready for the heat that bears down on and hits them in the face like a tortilla flung out out of the stands and in their general direction.”

The weather in College Station, Texas is hot and sticky. It is not as hot it was for the famous Junction Boys of Aggie fame, but the temperature in the afternoons in this part of Texas are consistently in the 90’s. With the game time temperature predicted at 82 degrees and humidity at 49% with a heavy cloud cover the Aggies will be very comfortable at Notre Dame Stadium, Indiana. “We cannot over emphasize the impact the heat has on conditioning,” Heraldson said. Heat demands more of the athlete than the cooler temperatures do. While there are other challenges for the Aggies (Notre Dame is good) the cooler weather should translate to better physical outcomes.
