What other coaches could it possibly be…
SwampButt Underwear Coaches’ On The Hot Seat September 21, 2020
September 21, 2020 – Coach Mike Gundy sits atop the SwampButt Underwear College Coaches’ Hot Seat this week. Saturday’s contests found one constant in a year where the only thing constant is the lack of consistency. That one thing is this; the Big 12 is terrible. The conference named for 12 with 10 members and only 2 that matter, proved their ineptitude is league wide for a second straight week. Playing at home, with their third quarterback of the day, true freshman Shane Illingworth, Oklahoma State rallied in the fourth quarter to squeak past Tulsa 16-7.

The Freshman Team
A four-star recruit, true freshman Illingworth, completed four of five passes for 74 yards. Freshman Alex Hale made three field goals, from 27, 40 and 29 yards respectively. “We believe that in the case of both Hale and Illingworth that neither has been on campus long enough to unlearn their skills and groove bad habits from practicing wrong, at least not just yet,” SwampButt Underwear spokesman and frequent drive through customer Nick Heraldson speculated. “The upperclassman on the Cowboys side were making Tulsa look like the Green Bay Packers. What other explanation is there?”
What About Tulane?
It was a tough call this week at SwampButt Underwear. Tulane Coach Willy Fritz’s Green Wave team snatched defeat from the jaws of certain victory. The Wave gave up a three-touchdown halftime lead and lost to Navy 24-21. “Practically any other weekend a performance like that gets you the hot seat,” Heraldson said. But when asked what the difference was, especially since Oklahoma State had won, Heraldson said, “we looked at the body of work for each coach. That review turned a close call into a runaway for Coach Gundy. So, congratulations, I guess.”
T-Shirt Fan Apology
Coach Gundy had alienated many of his players over the summer when he was photographed wearing a t-shirt associated with a conservative news network. That choice of wardrobe drew the ire of running back Chuba Hubbard among others who publicly lambasted a ‘grown man’ for what he chose to wear. Specifically, Gundy apologized for the “pain and discomfort” he caused his players and others due to a T-shirt he was photographed wearing and vowed positive changes for his football program.
Tulsa Game Apology?
Not content with merely annoying the student athletes upon whom he depends, Gundy set his sights on another group with career influence, the fans. “There were OSU fans online who were critical of how Gundy handled the whole t-shirt thing,” Heraldson said. “So, I guess he was all like ‘I’ll show you’ and made what should have been a scrimmage into an actual contest. I guess he showed them.”
