How To Set The App Up

Visitors using an iPhone or iPad can open the setup page in Safari and use the browser’s “Add to Home Screen” function. Android users can complete the process through Chrome using “Install app” or “Add to Home screen,” depending on the device and browser version.

“The goal was to make the Scale of Sultry easy to use wherever people encounter heat and humidity,” Heraldson said. “If someone wants a Home Screen icon, they can add one. If they do not want to fool with that, they can simply open the website and use the calculator. Easy.”

Data Driven Outcome

After users enter the current temperature and humidity, they select a level of sun exposure ranging from full shade to blazing sunshine. The calculator immediately returns a Sultry Score and a plain-language description of the expected conditions.

The updated calculator also compares the estimated drying performance of the Lycra-spandex fabric used in SwampButt Underwear with traditional cotton underwear. Its calculation considers apparent heat, atmospheric moisture, drying potential and the additional heat burden created by sunlight.
